If I buy this machine, do I need to hire a specialized engineer to run it?
No. The control system is based on a standard PC platform. If your operator can load a drawing file into a computer, they can load it onto the machine. We usually have your guy up and running within 2 hours during our remote commissioning session.
I currently use a laser cutter. How does plasma compare?
If you are working exclusively with stainless steel under 10mm, a laser is better for speed and edge quality. However, for mild steel over 16mm, plasma is faster and actually produces a cleaner edge than a standard CO2 laser.
What's the life expectancy of the consumables?
This depends heavily on the cut quality. Under normal conditions (good air pressure and a clean steel plate), an electrode and nozzle can last you roughly 60 to 100 pierces. If you buy the high-quality consumables we recommend, you can get closer to 120 pierces per set.
Can you fit a machine into a workshop with a standard 9-foot ceiling?:
Yes. Our compact design fits into standard factory bays. The gantry clearance is low, but the effective cutting table is still large. Please measure the height of your overhead crane, as you need space to load plates onto the bed.
How do I handle a machine breakdown during a rush order?
We keep a stock of spare power boards and control boards in our central warehouse. If a crash occurs, we ship the replacement board overnight, and our engineer guides your local electrician on swapping it out. For software lockups, we can often fix it via a VPN remote connection in 10 minutes
