How Does It Actually Work?

The CNC system orchestrates everything. The control unit interprets G-code instructions derived from your design files. Servo or stepper motors move the gantry along precise linear guides on the X and Y axes. The Z axis manages the torch height, which is automated in more sophisticated systems to adjust for plate warpage and uneven surfaces in real-time.

The cutting table supports the material. Slats hold the plate above a water table or downdraft system designed to capture fumes, sparks, and slag. Certain setups offer submerged cutting, dramatically reducing smoke and noise.
