Yes, it can weld galvanized plates, but the zinc vapor will dirty the protective lens. Make sure to boost the auxiliary blowing air during welding. A good exhaust system is also essential for all laser welding, not just this machine. For aluminum alloys, you'll need the dual-wire feeding option, as standard single feeders struggle with soft aluminum wire and can jam.
4. If I decide to buy one, how can you guarantee it'll work right out of the box? How long does setup take?
Each unit undergoes a 24-hour full-power stress test before shipping. Once it arrives, we'll provide remote video guidance for wiring and settings. An electrician with typical skills should be able to go from unpacking to making the first good weld in about two hours. The laser and cooling pump head generally last three to five years with normal use, but it's crucial to change the cooling fluid regularly. Many people skip this, causing pump heads to rust, which isn't covered by warranty, so please keep this in mind.
