Our Machine Building Process

Raw Material Inspection: Upon arrival, steel is inspected for dimensions and material grade before production.

Frame Machining: Welded beds and gantries are precisely machined after being aligned in jigs.

Stress Relief Heat Treatment: All welded frames are heat-treated to prevent future bed shifting and ensure cutting accuracy. This step is crucial for lasting performance.

Precision Surface Machining: Key surfaces and guide rail beds are machined to exact specifications.

System Installation: Mechanical, electrical, and control systems, including plasma and flame torches, are installed. Drive motors are fitted and synchronized. We use trusted components from suppliers like Fangling CNC and Huayuan plasma.

Extensive Testing: Before shipping, each Economical CNC Cutting Machine undergoes thorough testing. This covers motion system range, drive synchronization, plasma power, and flame performance. We conduct actual steel cutting tests, assessing edge quality and dimensions. All machines are CE certified and must pass all inspections.

Shipping Preparation: Machines are disassembled into modules, carefully crated, and documented for transit.

Setting Up Your Machine

Preparation:
Clear and level your workspace. A standard, level floor is fine; no special reinforcement needed.
Power: Ensure you have 220V or 380V power available, depending on your machine's setup.
Compressed air: Essential for the plasma cutter. It must be clean and dry. Moisture will quickly damage plasma consumables.
Gas supply: You'll need oxygen and fuel gas for the flame cutting.

Assembly:
The track sections connect to reach your desired cutting length.
The gantry is then placed onto the rails.
Install the torches and the height controller.
Synchronize the drive motors.
This usually takes about a day with remote assistance.

Connections:
Hook up the power, plasma source, and air supply.
Connect your oxygen and fuel gas lines.
Power everything on, have the axes return to home, and confirm smooth movement.

Software:
Install the StarCAM nesting software on your computer.
You can import CAD files or use the software's built-in library of 48 common patterns, just by inputting dimensions.
Transfer your designs via USB.
Set the appropriate cutting parameters for both plasma and flame.

Testing:
Perform test cuts using scrap material.
Adjust settings as needed.
Fine-tune the height controller.

All in all, plan for about one to two days from delivery to your first production cut, assuming your site is all prepped and ready.

 
 
FAQ

 

Can I use cheap generic consumables or do I need brand-name ones?

You can use generics, but they won't last as long. The brand-name ones use better materials and have tighter tolerances. In my experience, the extra cost of good consumables is offset by less downtime and better cut quality.

The machine comes with StarCAM software. Do I need to buy anything else?

No – StarCAM is included. It handles nesting and toolpath generation. You can design parts in any CAD software that exports DXF – AutoCAD, SolidWorks, whatever you already use. If you don't have CAD, the built-in shape library covers most common parts.

What's the noise level like?

Plasma cutting is loud – about 90–100 decibels. You'll want hearing protection for operators. Flame cutting is quieter. The motion system itself is relatively quiet. The noise comes from the plasma arc and the air flow. Earplugs or earmuffs are essential for daily operation.

Can I use Economical CNC Cutting Machine for artistic or decorative cutting?

You can, but plasma isn't ideal for very fine detail – the kerf is too wide. For decorative work with thicker material, it works fine. For fine detail, laser or waterjet would be better. But for most ornamental ironwork, plasma does the job.
