1. Pre-operation Inspection
First, check whether the main power cord, grounding wire, and gas pipe connections are secure, and whether there are any damages or leaks.
For water-cooled equipment, confirm the water level of the cooling fluid; for air-cooled equipment, ensure that the fan can work normally.
Remove the welding gun, and use a professional optical cleaning consumable to gently wipe the protective lens with a single-directional motion, removing dust and welding splatters.
Polish the welding area of the workpiece to remove rust and oil stains. Firmly fix the two components, with the joint gap controlled within 0.3mm.
Before operation, wear laser protection glasses, fireproof gloves, and dust masks.
2. Startup and Parameter Settings
First, turn on the main power, then start the cooling system, waiting for 3 to 5 minutes for the temperature to stabilize.
Start the laser host and touch screen, select matching parameters according to the material and thickness of the workpiece.
Open the argon gas valve and adjust the gas pressure to 0.05 to 0.08 MPa to prevent weld oxidation.
3. Standard Welding Process
Align the welding gun at 30° to 70° with the workpiece, keeping the nozzle 8 to 12mm away from the metal surface.
Press the switch and move the welding gun along the weld line at a uniform speed; avoid pauses during welding.
For thick plates, perform two welds to ensure penetration. Immediately release the switch after welding is completed.
4. Standard Shutdown Procedure
Turn off the laser output on the control panel, then turn off the host.
Wait for 5 minutes for the cooling system to dissipate the residual heat, then cut off the main power and gas supply.
Clean the welding gun nozzle and the splatter on the worktable, cover the lens cover, and properly place the welding gun.
Important Safety Precautions
Do not bend the optical fiber cable beyond 60 degrees; otherwise, the internal fibers are prone to breakage.
Do not direct the laser welding gun towards the human body, eyes, or flammable materials.
Before formal production, test the welding parameters on the same-sized scrap material first to check if the parameters are appropriate.
If abnormal smoke, cooling alarm, or unstable laser spot is observed, immediately stop the welding and contact the after-sales service.
