How Does the Machine Achieve Precision?

Precision in this machine comes from three key elements working together.

First, the frame undergoes stress relief. Welding can put stress on steel, causing it to warp as the stress gradually releases over time. To prevent this, we heat the frame to around 600°C and then cool it slowly over a full day. This process eliminates the stress, ensuring the frame remains stable. Because the frame doesn't move, the machine maintains its accuracy.

Second, the linear guide rails are precisely machined after the frame is stress-relieved. These rails are made perfectly parallel within specified limits. The gantry then moves smoothly along these rails without any sticking. The straightness of the cut is directly determined by how accurately these rails are aligned.

Third, servo drives and encoders work with the CNC controller. The controller tells the drives where to move the gantry, and the encoders report the gantry's actual location. The controller compares where it wants the gantry to be with where it actually is and fixes any differences. This constant checking ensures accuracy throughout the entire movement range of the machine.

As a result, the positioning accuracy is ±0.3mm, and the repeat positioning accuracy is ±0.1mm. This means parts cut by this machine fit together perfectly, without needing any extra grinding or adjustments.
